LPCC enrolls children of all faiths; however, it is a ministry of Lakeside Presbyterian Church. Therefore, children do say grace before snack time and attend a brief chapel service once a month. See ‘Chapel Time’ under the programs tab for more information.

Fundraising Overview

Fundraising is a crucial part of maintaining the diversity of programs, quality of facilities and type of experience at Lakeside. Participation by families is a significant measure of success, as it indicates a committed and involved parent base. Grant providers and other programs are looking for an involved parent base when they are considering Lakeside. The fact you donate counts more than the actual dollar amount of your donation for grant applications.

The funds are used to improve playground equipment, school infrastructure and school systems, and support enrichment programs.

In addition to the Annual Fund drive, there are a variety of fundraising activities throughout the year. These activities are described below. Since every family is unique, Lakeside wants to provide as many opportunities for people to contribute in ways that feel most natural.

Annual Fund Drive

The Annual Fund Drive is a major fundraiser; this year the Annual Fund target is $15,000 with a goal for 100% participation. There is no target allocation per family, as families are able and willing to contribute varying amounts. Again, the goal is to reach full participation from families of the 150 Lakeside students.

As a non-profit organization, your donation to the Annual Fund Drive may be matched by your employer. Check with your Human Resources Department for details on the matching gifts program. In addition, your donation to Lakeside is tax deductible to the full extent of the law.

Scholastic Book Fair (Fall/Spring)

The Book Fair is held twice a year — in the Fall and the Spring. The fair is held in the Social Hall and is a great opportunity for classrooms, families and the school to benefit directly from book sales. In conjunction with Scholastic Books, the Book Fair offers affordable editions of many popular books sold in retail stores. Lakeside earns books and funds through the sale. In addition, each teachers place books on a "Classroom Wish Lists" which families can purchase on behalf of their children’s classroom. Net proceeds go to the PVO general fund.

Chevy’s

Lakeside parents are invited to Chevy’s restaurant at Stonetown on a weekday night in the Fall for a fun night out with the kids and other Lakeside families. Chevy’s donates 10% of all proceeds back to Lakeside. All funds go to the PVO general fund.

Easter Candy Sales

In advance of Easter each year, Lakeside participates in an Easter Candy sale of See’s Candies. Forms are sent home with children, and sales can be made to anyone. Typically there are six different items from which to choose. The school receives 50% of the proceeds. Sales start approx. 4 weeks before Easter. Net proceeds go to the PVO general fund.

Coin Drive

In February, each classroom has a coin drive, where children are encouraged to bring in coins to place in a jar. Each contributor receives a prize. All funds go directly to the respective classrooms for use by the classroom teacher for class materials.

Spring Fundraiser Evening/Raffle Drawing

The spring fundraiser alternates each year between a raffle and a major spring fundraising event. This year the Lakeside PVO will host a Spring Fundraiser Evening; the fundraising goal is $15,000. For the Spring Fundraiser, parents are invited to an evening of fun and entertainment. Details about the 2007 Spring Fundraiser will be announced in the fallFor the raffle, each classroom collects donated gift items and services and sells raffle tickets for those prizes. Prize drawing occurs at the Spring Family Picnic.

Lakeside needs every family’s participation in these activities, and welcomes all fundraising ideas!
